BoundariesBoundaries. Tough stuff. It seems that putting down personal boundaries is a
tough gig for a lot of us, especially in the workplace. In fact even knowing you may need a boundary can be challenging. But it doesn't have to be so tough it's like erecting an emotional glass cabinet, or a balistrade, just like at Graceland on the left, to protect both parties in an interaction. Boundaries training is vital for those workplaces where team members like to give so much of themselves to clients, and to fellow colleagues. It's a great session to run for companies who work in the not-for-profit space, or who have vulnerable clients where team members may run the risk of getting personally attached or over involved. |
Boundaries Learning Options
Through a range of fun activities, discussion and quiet reflection time, team members will walk away with a greater understanding of themselves and their behaviour around boundary setting. They'll leave the session with great confidence around how to set a healthy boundary, and then how to maintain it once it's in place. Your team members will feel less guilt and anxiety around putting down healthy boundaries with clients and colleagues, and will be ready to play with boundary setting.
What will be covered?
The workshop will be a fluid and organic process driven by the learners - however some of the topics covered are:
- Boundaries - what, why and how
- The beauty of boundaries
- The Relationship Continuum
- Observer Mode and Circle of Influence
- Rescuer/Victim/Persecuter game - identifying and facilitating
- Boundary crossings and violations
- The Four Friends of Boundaries
- Setting healthy boundaries
To run Boundaries training effectively, a one day workshop is recommended as it allows for great discussion of the models presented and application to real life scenarios. If time or budget is challenging, then you can have a very focused intensive 3-4 hour session with reduced time for discussion and case stuides. Clients often follow up a Boundaries session with Assertiveness learning, running a session usually a month or so after the inital Boundaries learning. Boundaries and Assertiveness learning go hand-in-hand.
Call or email to talk about what your learning needs are in this area - we can put together a Learning Proposal for you to drive your team forward in a healthy and effective way.
